BOISE -- The Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts reached a major milestone Monday, celebrating its 30th anniversary.

The classic opera house hall seats more than 2,000 people and can accommodate smaller shows as well.

The building's 10-story stage house allows it to bring in some big Broadway acts.

We have a full fly stage house, which allows us to do the largest productions, which we will be doing shortly with three weeks of 'Wicked,' which has never been done in the history of the center, or in Boise to have a three week run of a professional Broadway touring production, so the sky's the limit, said James Patrick, Morrison Center Executive Director.

Fans of shows like Wicked should have a lot to look forward to, as the new Broadway season will be announced in the next few weeks, and should bring many new acts to the Treasure Valley.
