CALDWELL -- Two men were taken to the hospital early Sunday morning after an altercation at a Caldwell bar, police said.

Investigators say officers were called to Vern's Tavern on South 7th Avenue just before 12:30 a.m.

According to police, a Nampa man got into an argument and then a physical fight with 42-year-old Noe Cardenas-Castillo, of Caldwell. Police say Cardenas pulled a knife and cut the man.

Another man tried to intervene and was stabbed by Cardenas, police said.

Cardenas was later arrested at his home. He's been charged with aggravated battery.

Police say the second victim was taken by paramedics to a Boise hospital, while the first was taken to the hospital by family member.
