BOISE -- The driver of a silver passenger car was taken via ambulance to a local hospital after driving off the road and down an embankment on Highway 21 near Lucky Peak.

The crash happened just before 5 p.m. about a mile south of the intersection of Highway 21 and East Highland Valley Road.

Rescuers say the man was conscious when they found him, but did appear to have injuries. He was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.

His car was heavily damaged.

Idaho State Police and local paramedics responded to the scene.
