BOISE -- The Idaho Humane Society has many new residents who are looking for homes right here in the Treasure Valley.
On Monday, the shelter received its largest ever single-day transfer of dogs.
Eighty small breed dogs from California arrived at the Boise Airport, thanks to the group Wings of Rescue.
The dogs come from three different shelters that are struggling to find homes for pets.
These are shelters that are receiving more dogs then they are able to adopt out and dog there can risk euthanasia if they don't have an opportunity for a home, said Hannah Parpart, Communication & Outreach Coordinator with the Idaho Humane Society.
Veterinarians are now in the process of evaluating each dog, and some of them will be available for adoption as soon as Tuesday.
