BOISE -- An Oregon man has walked more than 200 miles from La Grande to Boise while helping to raise awareness of bullying and teen suicide.

Joe Bell delivered his message of change to the Boys and Girls club of Ada County on Monday night.

Bell says he's just beginning his journey to New York with a message he hopes will save lives along the way.

He told members of the Boys and Girls Club about his 15-year-old son Jadin, who was bullied for being gay, and ultimately took his own life last February.

Bell wants to turn this personal tragedy into a mission to raise awareness about the impact and consequences of bullying.

I would like them to understand they have a right not to be bullied... And letting them know how to handle the situation, said Bell.

The death of Jadin Bell has been the inspiration for Faces for Change, a nonprofit organization to bring awareness to the subject of bullying.
