GLENNS FERRY, Idaho -- BLM fire crews are mopping up after a fast moving wildfire broke out about two miles northwest of Glenns Ferry Wednesday evening.

The King Fire was contained at 540 acres late last night and fire managers expect to have full control later today. Crews remained on scene watching for flare-ups overnight.

High temperatures, gusty winds, dry fuels, and diffiult terrain caused the fire to spread rapidly Wednesday evening, officials said.

Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.

With the 4th of July holiday this weekend, the BLM is asking people to use extreme caution when recreating on public lands.
