BOISE -- A big traffic change is coming to Downtown Boise, as North 8th Street between West Bannock Street and West Main Street will be changing directions.

One-way traffic is changing, from southbound to northbound one-way on 8th Street.

Max Clark from the Capital City Development Corporation says it will improve the safety for cyclists, improve traffic flow, especially when the new transit center is built, and it will increase traffic for businesses, which makes them happy.

They will start making the changes in the second half of next month, and they'll take effect on September 1.

Those with the Treasure Valley Cycling Alliance also say the change improves safety for cyclists by making them visible, and putting them on the correct side of the road.
