BOISE -- The Boise Police Department honored 88-year-old Edson Fujii and 90-year-old Vernard Moore Wednesday night, as they retired from their volunteer service.

They are among the ham radio operators with Valley Wide REACT, a group trained to help police with traffic control at special events such as the Komen Race for the Cure, the Iron Man Triathlon, and many others that attract large crowds and affect traffic flow.

The men have helped Boise citizens and Boise Police Department for the past 10 years.
