BOISE- Legendary Idaho jockey Gary Stevens is expected to ride a horse named Candy Boy during the 140th Run for the Roses on Saturday.
The Caldwell native began creating his equestrian legacy 26-years-ago at Churchill Downs. That's when Stevens claimed his first of nine triple-crown victories, winning the Kentucky Derby on a horse named Winning Colors.
The 51-year-old will soon get back in the saddle for what he says is his favorite race in the world.
Stevens will break from the 18th post during Saturday's Kentucky Derby, scheduled for 4:24 MST.
