BOISE -- Boise Fire officials believe oxygen tanks caused some small explosions that heavily damage a home on the Boise Bench this afternoon.
The call for help came into dispatch at around 2:50 p.m.
Firefighters responded to a blaze at a home at 302 Wilson Circle. When they got on scene, Boise Fire Chief Dennis Doan says crews called in a second alarm. Smoke could be seen billowing from the home that was about 50 percent engulfed in fire.
One man was outside in the yard. He had some cuts and was checked out by paramedics. He was later taken to the hospital by a neighbor after reportedly not feeling well. Firefighters did manage to get a dog inside the home out to safety.
By 3:30 p.m. the fire had been extinguished and crews were mopping up hot spots. The house was heavily damaged and appears to be a total loss, but firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to any other homes.
No firefighters were injured.
Doan says the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
