BOISE -- The third-annual Treefort Music Fest is going to set records for band participation.

More than 350 acts have already booked slots for the three-day festival that takes place from Thursday, March 20 through Sunday, March 23.

Organizers released the full schedule on Thursday.

Headlining the three-day festival is legendary Boise alt rock group Built to Spill, multi-instrumentalist producer RJD2, underground hip-hop act Run the Jewels, Minneapolis-based rock band Polica, and UKartists Joy Formidable.

So, what's interesting and new for 2014 besides dozens of emerging artists set to play throughout downtown Boise?

Try the festival's inaugural Hackfort aimed at educating musicians and fans on the finer points of using computer technology for music making.

Another first:Storyfort is a series of literary events scheduled throughout the festival, including plays and poetry.

Returning from last year, Treefort's Film Fest will include over 15 feature films, Q&A sessions, workshops, and more.

Also new for 2014, organizers have put together an all-Boise show on Wednesday, March 19.

Billed as The History of Boise Rock Showcase, the unique set will include Caustic Resin, El Dopamine, Haggis, Graveltruck, MC Shake, The Melting, and Splinter.

For tickets to Treefort, see the festival's online store.
