BOISE -- Boise Police arrested the man who robbed the Chase Bank branch inside the Fred Meyer store at Franklin Road and Orchard Street Wednesday afternoon.

Police dispatch was alerted about the robbery at 1:36 p.m.

A surveillance photo shows a nicely-dressed man wearing a dark-colored sport coat, slacks and a tie with shaded glasses. He is balding on top with short, dark hair above his ears.

Police say 42-year-old Daniel Fisher, of Boise, walked into the bank after coming through the east doors of the store. He walked up to the counter, made threatening statements to the teller and demanded cash.

Investigators credit the surveillance photos and a tip that came into Crime Stoppers, which led them to find Fisher at a motel near the Boise Airport, and that's when he was taken into custody, questioned, and was arrested.

Getting the suspect identified so quickly was key in locating him and making this arrest, said Sgt. Mark Barnett of the Boise Police Violent Crimes Unit. From the bank and store employees, to the officers involved and citizens sharing the information, a lot of people and some fast work went into finding the suspect.
