BOISE -- The Ada County coroner has released the identity of a Boise man who died after driving off Bogus Basin Road Saturday morning and crashing into a ravine.
Coroner Erwin Sonnenberg says an autopsy has been completed on 80-year-old Cesar Quijano. He was restrained in the vehicle but died from blunt force trauma. His death has been ruled an accident.
Investigators say Quijano was traveling north by himself when he went off the side of the road near milepost 4 around 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
Boise firefighters had to hike down around 100 feet to the SUV to find the driver dead inside. They say the car had been stopped by a tree.
Bogus Basin officials say Quijano was a member of the ski patrol and had worked there for 43 years. He was on his way to work when the accident occurred.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Ada County Sheriff's Office.
