BOISE -- Highway 21 between Grandjean Junction and Banner Summit re-opened Sunday afternoon after it was closed for two days because of avalanche danger in the area, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The 12-mile stretch, known as 'Avalanche Alley,' was shut down at 4 p.m. Friday, after recent snowfall brought with it 'considerable' avalanche danger.

ITD says that Idaho 21 is now fully open to traffic between Grandjean Road and the Custer-Boise County line.
