BOISE -- Students at Boise State's student involvement and leadership center sponsored, 'Break a World Record Day,' for the biggest slip'n slide.

On the lawn by the campus communication building, participants tried to slide the longest possible congregate total of feet in one hour.

The longest distance ever traveled on a Slip 'n Slide in 60 minutes was 82,080-feet, at the University of Oregon in 2010.

Students skidded, rolled and belly-surfed across a 30-foot slip'n slide in a competition that included nine other universities.

Boise State faculty and staff also participated alongside students. The school will now submit their results to the Guinness World Records, but event organizers told KTVB they believe BSU students unofficially beat the record by at least 20,000 feet.
