BOISE -- Friends and family are rallying around Big Jack Armstrong, who is one of the most well known radio personalities in Idaho and a classic car enthusiast.

After building his career and now owning a radio station, Armstrong's dreams could be cut short after suffering a stroke last month.

Just last summer, Armstrong helped organize the Northwest Motorfest as he does every year.

On Wednesday night at the annual Classic Car Cruise at the Westside Drive-In, owner and friend of friend of Armstrong's, Lou Aaron expressed how much he's missed from this event.

He's been a staple at our car shows and I know if anybody puts oldies but goodies-- Jack Armstrong are synonymous together. So it's a big loss here, we definitely miss him here tonight. He's been here for 17 years at our show, so we miss you Jack, said Aaron.

Unfortunately Jack does not have any insurance at this time, so proceeds from Wednesday night's event will go to a recovery fund for him.

There will be another benefit fundraiser for Armstrong on June 29 on the Boise Center on the Grove.
