BOISE -- A 40-year-old Boise man accused of attempting to prostitute a 3-year-old girl on Craigslist has pleaded guilty to two felony charges.
Jason Schaber faced two dozen charges; most of them were for distributing and producing child pornography. He pleaded not guilty earlier this year to those charges.
U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson said Schaber pleaded guilty in federal court Friday to sexual exploitation of children and distribution of sexually explicit images of minors between 2010 and 2012.
The plea agreement states that Schaber produced 26 sexually explicit images and videos of females who were less than six years of age, and that he distributed child porn he had produced himself or that he had obtained from the Internet, via email to at least 16 other individuals.
Olson says Schaber faces a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 50 years in prison for the two felony counts. Sentencing is set for Aug. 13.
Schaber was arrested last May after an ad was found posted in the Casual Encounters section of Craigslist offering the toddler for sex. The case was investigated by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
