BOISE -- The wife of a Boise pastor held captive in Iranian prison says her husband is now being held in solitary confinement.

Tuesday, the wife of Pastor Saeed Abedini said he was sentenced to solitary confinement for 20 days. The sentence was apparently connected to a petition the prisoners signed asking for better conditions in the prison.

Naghmeh Abedini said her husband Saeed is one of 10 prisoners that received the sentence.

It s been very emotional the last few days for me. I can t imagine even spending one day -- even 24 hours -- in this dark hole where you don t know if its morning or if its night ... the emotional, mental psychological abuse, said Abedini.

She also said Saeed s physical condition is getting worse, saying he's been beaten and has internal bleeding and injuries to his kidneys.

I don t know if he is going to survive that, Naghmeh Abedini said. I can t get across the urgency of this matter for us to speak out and help, she said.

Naghmeh continues to be vocal about her husband's imprisonment. She appeared on Fox News to tell her husband s story on Tuesday.

Abedini continues to push for political intervention in her husband's case, and says that U.S. lawmakers need to be aware of her Saeed's condition.
