KUNA -- The Ada County Sheriff's Office is trying to figure out who tried to hide stolen guns inside the Kuna Caves.

A cache of guns was found Sunday morning. They were reported missing from a Kuna home Wednesday night.

Detectives are still trying to figure out how the two handguns and five long guns got from the house to the Kuna Caves.

Seven guns were found inside the caves -- including handguns and rifles.

Jerhemy Taylor and his two nephews were exploring the caves when they came across the guns.

Taylor said he went to climb up on a higher section of the cave and that is when he first saw two handguns, then he noticed the other guns all broken into pieces.

One the right side I found a 300 mag, and I shined my light onto the other side and I just saw a pile of guns, said Taylor. When we found the guns in there I came home and called the cops.

Ada County detectives closed off the caves Sunday to investigate and collect evidence.

Investigators say the the guns were taken from a home on West Isabella Street in Kuna, which is miles away from the caves.

The homeowner reported about $12,000 worth of property including the guns stolen this past week.

So far, no arrests have been made and police are still investigating the burglary.

Anyone with information about the burglary or the guns found in the Kuna Caves is asked to call Ada County Sheriff's dispatch at 377-6790.
