BOISE -- Idahoans now have a new tool to make their lives easier while on the go. That's because KTVB has launched the area's first and only locally-produced traffic app for mobile devices.

KTVB's Treasure Valley Traffic App features a smooth interface that links 79 traffic cameras located throughout the valley. Users can scroll through these cameras to get a bird's eye view of accidents, traffic back-ups, and lane closures on nearby roads.

KTVB's new app also includes an interactive traffic map that profiles I-84 and allows commuters to zoom into their route before heading out to see areas of heavy congestion marked in yellow or red.

The app also includes live incident data uploaded from the Ada County Highway District to inform drivers about traffic accidents and help users navigate lane and road closures.

To get the Treasure Valley Traffic app, simply search KTVB in your favorite app store!

KTVB continues to offer more mobile technology

Each day, more and more Idahoans are purchasing and using smart phones and tablets. As part of KTVB's goal to bring you free, top-quality news and local content anywhere you want it, we've continued to expand our mobile offerings. In the past few weeks we've made a number of improvements to our networks of apps & sites - both small and large. Here are a few:

KTVB Idaho News App

With more than 40,000 downloads, KTVB's Idaho News App is the Treasure Valley's most popular free app for local news and weather. KTVB rolled out a new look for this app at the end of April, and since that time we've been refining and adjusting the app.

  • News stories now include our popular slide shows. Just tap the small squares icon on any photo in the app.
  • We've also put our video sections side-by-side with their respective news sections to make them easier to find.
  • In addition, we've added a few fun sections to the app including a daily history quiz updated each morning, plus a match game that you'll have to try!

KTVB Idaho Weather App

An all-new look streamlines all the features you're used to. Starting in May, we added a number of new radar views and even more maps and ways to see the weather forecast and conditions here in the Treasure Valley.

KTVB iPad App

An overhauled traffic interface allows you to see any camera in the area with just a swipe!
