BOISE -- Idaho motorcyclists gathered Saturday at Lucky Peak to remind drivers and riders alike about the importance of sharing the road.

Every year about 500 motorcycle crashes are reported in Idaho. Saturday's event not only reminds drivers that motorcycles will be out on the roads but also reminds riders to make themselves visible and be prepared.

According to the Idaho Transportation Department from 2009 to 2012 there were over 2,000 crashes involving a motorcycle, 100 people killed in those crashes and more than 678 seriously injured.
