BOISE -- It's time for the 29th Annual Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees.
There are hundreds of decorated Christmas trees, wreaths and other holiday decor on display at the Boise Centre.
The week-long event begins tonight with a black-tie gala celebration that starts at 5:30 p.m. And there's more to the festival than trees and tuxedos.
There's lots of entertainment. We have 1,700 volunteers coming in to entertain us. Santa will be here. We'll have the Santa shop, the Christmas shop -- lots to do for all ages, said Renee Pontious, Festival of Trees co-chair.
We may see some snow inside here, while we won't see it outside this week. It just really sets the tone for the holiday spirit, said Ned Pontious, Festival of Trees co-chair.
This year, all of the funds raised during the Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees will go toward expanding and upgrading Saint Al's emergency department, which includes the only Level Two trauma center within a 300-mile radius of Boise.
