BOISE -- Former Republican Sen. John McGee is out of jail.
McGee was released Saturday, five days before his orginally-scheduled release date.
The former state senator from Caldwell was sentenced to 44 days in jail in August -- after pleading guilty to disturbing the peace charges -- linked to a sexual harassment incident.
Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney's office wrote to 4th District Court Magistrate James Cawthon this month, requesting McGee's early release for good behavior.
Now that he is out, the 39-year-old's life will change considerably, as he was a top ranking senator in Idaho.
The four-term GOP senator's legal troubles began when he was arrested for drunken driving.
He quit the legislature in February, after being accused of sexual harassment by a female staffer.
