BOISE -- Ken Darby was in the bedroom of his homein Columbia Village when he heard Friday's storm coming. But to see what was happening, he needed a better vantage point.

Wewent to the front window (and saw)garbage cans thrown around, shingles were flying around, everything was swirling around, Darby said. There's one neighbor's house where (a tree) ishalfway uprooted - and these are really big trees.

When the strong winds subsided in this southeast Boise neighborhood,Darby ventured outside to see the damage up close. Other neighbors joined him.

What they found were toppled trees in the road.Someof the treeswere nearly one foot in diameter.

Neighborsalso spent timecleaning upa lot of garbage that were whipped around in the wind.
