KETCHUM -- Much of the Beaver Creek Fire area in the Ketchum Ranger District that burned last August will remain closed this summer.

The area was severely eroded by heavy rains last fall. That means the area is closed to hiking, mountain biking, motorcycling and horseback riding.

Meantime, work to rehabilitate and repair the fire damage has begun. Grass seed and mulch were applied to several severely burned areas by helicopter in the early winter and will continue in May.
