BOISE -- A woman who operates a daycare out of her Boise Bench home is charged with delivery of a controlled substance after police found marijuana in the house.

After receiving a citizen tip there may be drug activity at the home, two Boise Police officers made contact with 28-year-old Korinne Jones on the evening of Dec. 17, 2013, at her home in the 1300 block of South Nash Street.

Officers could smell the strong odor of marijuana coming from the home as the approached the front door. Jones let officers into the home where they found evidence of marijuana use and marijuana packaged for sale. They seized four grams of marijuana and some drug paraphernalia.

Three small children were found in the home, ranging in age from 6 months to 3 years. One of the children lived there. The other two kids, ages 6 months and 2 years, were turned over to the custody of their parents.

The investigation was forwarded to Ada County prosecutors for review. On March 12, 2014, an arrest warrant was issued on the felony drug charge, with a $75,000 bond. Jones turned herself into police on March 18.

The city of Boise suspended Jones' daycare license on Dec. 20, 2013, after an in-home visit. Police say Jones has complied with the city order.
