POCATELLO, Idaho -- An eastern Idaho man has been arrested and charged with five counts of injury to a 2-year-old child who suffered life-threatening brain injuries in May 2012.
Power County sheriff's office officials say Cody Sellers was arrested in Wyoming on Monday. He was arraigned in Power County Magistrate Court in American Falls on Thursday on the five felony counts with a great bodily harm enhancement. Sellers was released on his own recognizance. Prosecutors say other charges may be pending.
Charging documents say the girl was taken to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello on May 4, 2012 and transported to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City for treatment. The girl survived but is severely brain damaged.
Sellers' preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 4.
