BOISE -- Members and friends of United Methodist churches across the region are spending the month of April raising awareness of hunger and collecting food to share with people in need.
So today, they walked their way to reach a goal.
They started at the Cathedral of the Rockies for a one mile walk to collect food donations.
They want to raise awareness of hunger and also talk about what communities can do to stop hunger.
We could always use more, but this the beginning of a month-long emphasis. Throughout the month, we will be having other opportunities for people to be involved, said David Thompson, the Chair of March on Hunger.
So they are encouraging people to get involved.
Thompson says they will have another activity for food stamps on the 14th.
Thompson also says nearly one in six Idaho residents, and one in every four children, is uncertain about having adequate food.
