FIRTH, Idaho -- A 62-year-old Idaho Falls woman struck by a car Saturday night has died from her injuries, according to Idaho State Police.
Police were called at 9:13 p.m. to investigate a car versus pedestrian crash on US 91, north of Firth in Bingham County.
Investigators say 68-year-old Chester Lewis of Caldwell was northbound in a 1992 Geo Metro when he came upon a large group of people crossing the road. Lewis swerved to avoid the group and struck Frances Montgomery.
She was taken by air ambulance to East Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, where she later died from her injuries.
Montgomery was attending a vigil for her daughter's boyfriend, Arnold Taylor, 42, of Firth, at the site of his fatal motorcycle crash when she was hit. Taylor died Friday night after colliding with a deer.
The road was blocked for about an hour and a half. The crash is still under investigation.
