BOISE -- BLM fire investigators say a fire on Table Rock overnight was human-caused.
The fire started around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a Boise Fire Department battalion chief.
It burned in dry, heavy fuels below the large, iconic cross.
With wind and triple digit heat expected in Boise Sunday, firefighters took extra precautions, digging up roots to make sure the fire was completely extinguished.
Witnesses told firefighters they saw fireworks being set off in the area before the fire. A BLM spokesperson said the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
