BOISE -- There are 2.8-million breast cancer survivors in the United States, but most don't know the American Cancer Society Guidelines for Cancer Prevention and Survivors.

Those guidelines are:

  • Physical activity -- with physician permission, goal of 150 minutes per week. It is cumulative: All activity counts.
  • Healthy diet that is full of color and plant foods -- use of a variety of preparation methods. Include some cooked, some raw, some juiced.
  • Achieving a healthy body weight -- preventing weight gain during breast cancer treatment, and working with your doctor and your dietitian after treatment is completed.
