BOISE-- Water is returning to the New York Canal. The Bureau of Reclamation says they finished repairing the canal on Tuesday night and began refilling it at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

The bureau told KTVB that just like any canal being filled, they will have increased monitoring along the canal, especially at the spot of the recently reported leak.

The leak was first reported on Sunday when Boise resident Anni Jack saw water trickling down the hillside near her backyard. The Bureau of Reclamation, who owns the canal, said that once their officials heard there was a leak, they began draining water immediately.
