CALDWELL -- A Caldwell woman who told police she accidentally shot her husband is charged with voluntary manslaughter.
Canyon County prosecutors say the aggravated battery charge against 41-year-old Paige Ireland was amended today after the recent death of her husband 34-year-old Samuel Ireland.
Ireland told investigators that she was trying to get away from her abusive husband and she grabbed his hunting rifle to scare him. She did not believe the gun was loaded when she pulled the trigger.
Samuel Ireland was shot on Feb. 10 and died six days later at a Utah hospital.
Ireland posted a $50,000 bond today after the judge reduced her bond from $500,000.
She is due back in court on March 15.
