BOISE -- A former Bureau of Land Management employee has been ordered to spend 12 months in prison for stealing government gift cards and using them for her own benefit.
A federal judge on Monday also ordered 35-year-old Katrina Telleria of Boise to pay more than $71,900 in restitution.
Telleria pleaded guilty in December to three counts of theft and one count of making a false statement to government officials.
Under a plea agreement in the case, the former administrative assistant admitted taking credit cards used by wildfire administrators for an employee incentive programs and converting them into general-use gift cards. She then used those cards issued by major credit card companies for her own use.
She worked for the agency's Boise office between 2008 and 2011.
