POCATELLO, Idaho -- A southeastern Idaho man is headed to prison for two years after being sentenced for failing to register as a sex offender.
Brandon Jim of Fort Hall was sentenced on Wednesday in U.S. District Court to 24 months in prison, the U.S. attorney's office said.
Jim was convicted in Wyoming in 1999 for abusive sexual conduct, an offense that required him to register as a sex offender and keep his registrations current under a 2006 law.
According to a plea agreement, Jim conceded he had registered at a pair of addresses on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation north of Pocatello, including his father's home.
But he then moved from house to house without updating his registration.
That's after he'd previously signed documents committing to update his whereabouts whenever he moved.
