CANYON COUNTY -- A wildfire that started Thursday evening near Celebration Park, south of Melba, was fully contained Friday morning at 10:00, and is expected to be controlled by 6:00 Friday night.

Officials say the fire grew to 1,200 acres, due to more accurate mapping of the fire. There are seven engines, one water tender, one hand crew and one helicopter working the fire.

No structures were threatened, but campers in the campground have been evacuated.

Celebration Park was closed for a short while, but has since reopened.

Officials say the fire looks to be caused by an escaped campfire, and anyone with information about the campfire is asked to call BLM Boise Dispatch Center at 384-3400.
