BOISE -- Members of the Boise Fire Dive Rescue Team and the Boise City Parks & Recreation Department began clearing the Boise River of debris Wednesday.
A focus of today's cleanup was a large snag from the float section of the Boise River. The snag fell into the main current of the river over the winter, meaning floaters would be pushed directly into it.
They cleared that snag, dragging it to an island in the middle of the river, but not before a rope snapped while pulling it.
There is no set date for an opening at Barber Park. That typically occurs sometime in late June depending on water flows and temperatures.
