BOISE -- Crowds came to celebrate Native American culture in Idaho at Boise State University on Sunday.
Drummers and dancers gathered for the Seven Arrows Powwow at BSU's Jordan Ballroom. The two-day powwow showcased native singing, storytelling, games, and other cultural demonstrations.
We want to keep our culture alive, we want to keep those songs alive, we want to keep the language alive, so that we can pass that on to our kids, said organizer DallasGudgell. ... We want to keep all those things alive so that we can carry that down.
Food donations for the Native American Council of Boise were also collected at the powwow. Those who couldn't make it to the event can look forward to the Red River Powwow coming up in September in Caldwell.
