BOISE -- As KTVB first reported Monday, the owner of Quail Hollow Golf Course in Boise's north foothills wanted to make sure it wasn't someday turned into a housing development, and decided the best option was to donate it to the city.

In what turned out to be, a mere formality the Boise City Council Tuesday night unanimously accepted the donation.

Donor, Dave Hendrickson didn't attend Tuesday night's meeting, but council members wanted him to know he won't have to pull out his wallet ever at Quail Hollow, at least for green fees, as he has a lifetime pass to play.

The city will take over the course on December 1.
