CALDWELL -- The Treasure Valley Family YMCA is wrapping up this season's Make-a-Splash program in Caldwell.

Thanks to a $20,000 contribution made by Jacksons Food Stores, the Caldwell YMCA was able to expand the program to area schools including those in the Homedale and Vallivue school districts.

Over 1,000 third graders are taking swimming lessons through the program.

Swimming is a life skill that can be taken for an entire lifetime and we're proud to support something that is so important to someone's safety and well being, said Katrina Lemmon with Jacksons.

Make-a-Splash is a national water safety initiative created by the USA Swimming Foundation in an effort to provide access to swim lessons for children around the country.
