WENDELL, Idaho -- Gooding County officials say their investigation into injuries suffered by a Blackfoot man over the weekend is being hampered by incomplete information.

Chief Deputy Jerry Pierce says 31-year-old Jason Given was found at about 6 p.m. Sunday by an emergency medical technician who was driving on the road south of Wendell.

Pierce says Given's throat was slashed, he had a stab wound to the head and a fractured skull.

Given told police the men jumped him near a cluster of trees.

Pierce tells The Times-News that officers haven't been able to locate a crime scene and Given gave a only vague description of a white car that was reportedly involved.

Pierce says officers don't feel like they're getting the whole story and the attack might have been drug-related.
