MOUNTAIN HOME -- Four schools are back to normal after going into lockdown early Wednesday morning.
Police and school leaders say the measures were taken after someone reported a suspicious package in Carl Miller Park. Mountain Home Superintendent Tim McMurtrey says the package was found around 8 a.m.
East Elementary, Bennett Mountain High, Hacker Middle School and Mountain Home Junior High went into lockdown for safety measures due to the possibility of threat.
During the lockdown, students were able to go about their day inside the schools, but weren't allowed to leave campus.
Mountain Home Police Sergeant Rick Viola said the police department had helped to block access to the park, and was waiting for help from other agencies.
