BOISE -- Idaho Transportation Department is recognizing a pair of Treasure Valley employees and an employee from the Pocatello area, for winter-driving safety and mobility this past winter season.

Foreman for ITD Boise and Caldwell maintenance, Richard Peryer and Ken Couch were recognized for keeping the road ice-free during winter storms, 94 percent of the time. ITD calculated the percentage of winter road maintenance by using Winter Performance Measures, or WPM.

Ken and Richard have done an exceptional job of effectively using resources to provide 24/7 coverage of highways in the Treasure Valley, said ITD southwest Idaho Operations Manager Tom Points.

Leadworker of the Pocatello shop location, Shane Paye was also recognized for his work in the WPM category for Idaho's storm index.
