BOISE -- It was a special day for a local family whose lives were turned upside down when they learned their little boy was sick.

People bowled Sunday at Westy's Garden Lanes in Boise to help out.

The family of Brady Helms found out on April 3rd that he has a rare form of bone cancer.

Naturally, the medical bills have started to pile up. But since then the support from the community has poured in.

I m going to tell you the people have been amazing, said Tony Helm, Brady s dad. They have had a number of fundraisers - from the benefit for Brady at Gino s restaurant, who was kind enough to donate his restaurant for the night - to yard sales, car washes, people selling cookies, lemonade - you know the outpouring of the community has just been amazing.

Tony says Brady was not at the bowling fundraiser today because he was not feeling well, but he would have loved to be there.

If you want to help the Helms family, they have a page at www.youcaring.com.
