BOISE -- Fire investigators are looking into two grass fires that burned about 60 acres of BLM land north of Middleton Sunday afternoon.
A BLM dispatcher tells KTVB there were two ignition points in the same area, and that the fires nearly burned together. Because of the close proximity of the fires, dispatchers say the circumstances are suspicious.
The fires, about nine miles north of Middleton, occurred in an area that had burned several years ago and consisted mostly of light fuels, such as cheatgrass, according to dispatchers.
Firefighters controlled the fire and cleared the scene just before 7 p.m.
No homes or structures were threatened.
