BOISE -- A cyclist was cited by police after crashing into a station wagon at a downtown Boise intersection this afternoon.
Several witnesses told police that the driver of the station wagon was northbound on Capitol Boulevard around 1:21 p.m., and proceeding through a green light at the intersection of Main Street. That's when a bicyclist heading east on Main Street failed to stop for the red light and collided with the station wagon. The bike hit the car on the driver's door at full speed.
The cyclist, 54-year-old Tyler L. Connor of Boise, was taken to a local hospital with what police say appeared to be significant injuries. However, those injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
Police say Connor was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and officers believe that alcohol was a factor.
Police cited Connor for failure to obey a traffic signal.
