BOISE -- The Blaine County Sheriff's Office has finished its investigation into a deadly crash involving a driver's education car last month.

Lt. Jay Davis says the car was turning around on US Highway 20, and was not at an intersection. It was a turn he called unsafe.

An oncoming car tried to brake, but hit some ice and crashed into the driver's ed car.

The Carey High School student behind the wheel, 15-year-old Austin Hennefer, died.

The driver's ed teacher, a second student, and the driver of the other car were taken to hospital with serious injuries. All have since been released.

The sheriff's office has forwarded their investigation to the county prosecutor who will decide if any charges should be filed.
