BOISE -- Two people died in two separate single-vehicle crashes this weekend.
The first happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 20, east of Mountain Home.
Idaho State Police say 68-year-old William Templeton of Middleton rolled his 1978 Shasta van after losing control of the vehicle. His passenger, 73-year-old Debra Templeton, was thrown from the van and died at the scene.
William Templeton was taken taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise to be treated for injuries. His condition has not been released.
The road was shut down for about three hours while police investigated and cleared the scene.
The second crash happened at around 5 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Karcher Road and Wintergreen Drive. The Canyon County Sheriff's Office says they arrived on scene to find single-vehicle rollover crash.
Deputies say 21-year-old Francisco R. Rivera of Caldwell was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. He died at the scene.
Police are still investigating the crash, but say alcohol likely played a role.
