BOISE -- The premiere of the Add the Words documentary filled the Egyptian Theater Sunday night.
The movie centered on the struggle of the activist group to convince the legislature to add the words gender identity and sexual orientation to Idaho's Human Rights Act.
If people could get to know the individuals of this movement, and know people beyond their regular group it will allow people to become more diversified in their hearts, and more understanding and more accepting of a larger group of human beings, said Michael Gough, one of the film's co-directors and co-producers.
The group drew national attention earlier this year after scores of protesters were arrested at the Statehouse during the legislative session. Despite the demonstrations, lawmakers blocked the issue from even reaching a hearing.
Sunday's show was a test screening, so audience members were asked to give their feedback on the production.
