SANDPOINT, Idaho People in North Idaho saw some more snow on Monday. Heavy snow closed schools in both the Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry areas.
The City of Sandpoint alone saw more than eight inches of snow from the storm. The snow meant another March morning of shoveling for the city s residents.
It's like winter finally hit, in March, like usual, said resident Accalia Carter.
The snow was heavy enough to grant a rare snow day for school districts in both Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry.
I told my kids, after chores go build a snow fort, I want to see it when I get home. So they get to go play in the snow, they're having a blast, said Carter.
The local skiers and snowboarders were also rejoicing in the dump of fresh powder.
Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort said they plan to stay open an extra week in the 2013-2014 ski season.
